College Forward moved to remote work in March, much like the rest of the country. In the months since the switch, each member of our team has tried to find a way to turn our home office space into something functional but also fun. Here’s a look at what some members of our team’s working spaces look like.

Program Coordinator

I work on my dining room table, and the space can get a little cluttered, but I like that the window I face leads outside to trees, which squirrels like to run through once in a while. My favorite thing on my desk is my cats in a library pouch, which I use to hold all my colored pens.

My favorite thing on my desk is my ring light! My room is pretty dark so the light does double duty keeping me from eye strain and making me look great on zoom!

I also use an inflatable medicine ball to sit on in place of a chair so I get some extra movement in while working.

Everything I’ll ever need to get work done is right here, including my pistachios, my favorite item. I have to be doing something with my hands basically all the time (hence the fidget spinner), so why not put some of that energy into eating some pistachios, right? In times like these, it’s the little things that matter and bring a smile to my face, so I treat myself to some pistachios everyday.

This desk really only started getting work-related use when CoFo became WFH! On it are pictures of my Dallas-based fam; a plastic plant I can’t murder; an elephant statue (my favorite animal); a salt rock lamp to light things up when I work in the evenings; my incense holder; a glass of my go-to drink (OJ) and some books to read when I need a little break in between Zoom sessions! I also use an inflatable medicine ball to sit on in place of a chair so I get some extra movement in while working.
