NOTICE: This role is currently in a remote capacity and will resume its normal in-person functions when the College Forward office opens again.


College Forward seeks an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and creative Associate Product Manager (APM) to expand our impact with and operations for CoPilot Partners.

Reporting to the Product Manager, the APM will build the capacity of the CoPilot team by supporting all efforts to further develop the CoPilot product through feature releases, integration standardization, and technical product release support for partners and Partner Experience Managers (PEMs).


  • Assist in product vision, strategic plan, and product roadmap
  • Maintain CoPilot Data Dictionary and metadata on Reports, Profile Permissions, and functions to align with new Salesforce features and releases  
  • Compose clear and concise feature requirements through user research, PEM meetings,  and use product design prototypes to build consensus throughout the organization 
  • Lead vendor discovery, selection, and integration into the CoPilot managed package
  • Support product releases and product roadmap by executing product feature improvements or managing and coordinating closely with engineering, and design teams when appropriate
  • Lead development of externally-facing resources for CoPilot team. These resources could include training materials, data dictionary, FAQs, and product release documentation.
  • Be responsible for in-depth and comprehensive analyses of new product features
  • Boost collaboration with marketing, business development, sales, Partner Experience Team, and the Power of Us Hub to train internal staff, relevant partners, future customers, and key stakeholders in feature improvements by developing partner curriculum and support documentation
  • Track all projects through project management software


  • Help formalize CoPilot Product Team protocols 
  • Present newly developed resources to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage external Salesforce business consultant(s) and support vendor relationship(s)
  • Understand the strategic, long-term goals of the organization and the roles Salesforce and other future technology solutions will play in achieving those goals
  • Participate in strategic planning conversations as CoPilot continues to scale 
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

  • This position requires at minimum a baccalaureate degree an accredited, academically-recognized four-year college or university 
  • At least one year of education and/or nonprofit experience required.
  • Subject matter expertise in college access and college success programming, preferably someone who has worked directly with students, advisers or managers for a substantial period of time preferred
  • Salesforce CRM end-user and system administration experience preferred (Salesforce certification(s) is an added bonus)
  • Prior customer service experience in a SaaS Company with onboarding and implementation experience as a project lead, comparable to at least 2 years of Partner Experience Management at CoPilot is highly preferred 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with and present information to others and access information using a computer for several hours at a time. CoPilot staff are required to travel to state and national conferences.  Although regular travel is not immediately expected, this position could travel up to 10% of the time.

The employee must be emotionally mature. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to solve practical problems and deal with frequently changing variables. The employee must demonstrate strong interpersonal and coaching skills. The APM must be a self-driven individual who can thrive and produce outstanding results with little supervision.
