User Experience Design Intern

The Position

About CoFo Connect 

CoFo Connect is a mobile application that serves as a delivery mechanism, engagement tool, and supplemental support for students in the College Forward program.


The Role 

This position will give a College Forward student the opportunity to learn more about the field of product management and mobile app development. The User Experience Design Intern will work alongside the Product Manager, CoFo Connect to publish content into the app throughout the week, respond to user inquiries and customer service requests, and conduct periodic app testing & research (ex. User interviews). They will attend weekly meetings with the Product Manager, CoFo Connect, to check in on the status of projects.


Essential Duties 

User Engagement

  • Utilize a combination of Asana, CoSchedule, AWS, and CoPilot (Salesforce) to publish content into CoPilot (and CoFo Connect)
  • Find new resources (ex. scholarships) to publish into the app and ‘hide’ all expired scholarships
Customer Service
  • Respond to users experiencing technical issues (ex. Login issues, error messages) and update tickets (in CoPilot) as necessary
Mobile App. Implementation
  • Assist Product Manager with product launches and app implementation (ex. Introducing the app at a student  event or after-school meeting)
  • Assist Product Manager with leading training sessions to new and existing users
Mobile App. Development
  • Assist Product Manager with user interviews (conducting and/or note-taking)
  • Assist Product Manager with product testing (regular maintenance, testing of new features)
  • Assist Product Manager with concept design (sketching, wireframing) and prototyping

What You Bring

Education and Experience 

  • Applicants must be Current College Forward students
  • Interest in design thinking, mobile app development, or product management
  • Experience with Salesforce, Asana, and CoSchedule is a plus
  • Experience managing projects is also a plus

Physical and Emotional Demands 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with and present information to others and access information using a computer for several hours at a time. 
The employee must be emotionally mature. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to solve practical problems and deal with frequently changing variables.
The CoFo Connect Intern must be a self-driven individual who can thrive and produce outstanding results with little supervision.

Misc. Role Details

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 
Schedule Type: Part-Time 
Pay: $15 per hour*
Location: Internship is 100% remote. 
Expected Start Date: January, 2022. 

*Applicants must be able to work at least 15 hours/week, not to exceed 20 hours in one week.
